 -Rockets and Satellites —

Our speaker, Linus Fischer, will share his experience working at SpaceX, and review how  to land a reusable orbital vehicle, among other fascinating aspects of his time at Space X.

SpaceX, headquartered in Hawthorne, California, designs, manufactures, and launches rockets and spacecraft, developing reusable rockets. The company also operates the Starlink satellite internet constellation.

Linus’s presentation will include a view of alternate ways of landing an orbital vehicle.  This would include a space shuttle and any manned capsule. He will also examine the unique challenges and solutions the engineers came up with to land the vehicle from orbit without suffering significant damage.

Linus is a CFI and avid pilot, and recently completed his first parachute jump.  He holds many endorsements, including multi-engine, and frequently flies his experimental home built aircraft.
