What is Young Eagles?
EAA’s Young Eagles program was launched on July 30, 1992 to introduce young people, aged 8–17, to the world of aviation by providing a flight in a general aviation aircraft. Flights are offered free of charge through the generosity of our EAA members and volunteers. Since the beginning, more than 2 million Young Eagles have been flown with more than 40,000 EAA Members volunteering their time, aircraft and expenses to participate.
What to Expect
Please arrive at the event location no later than your scheduled time, and expect to stay for about 3 1/2 hours. After check-in and orientation, you will be able to tour one of Chino Airport’s world-class air museums. You may have a checklist of exhibits to see before your flight. Later, you have the chance to learn from people with experience in the aviation community on certain ground school subjects. Finally, one of our pilots will take you up on a 20 to 30 minute flight for the experience of a lifetime. Lunch will be provided to Young Eagles, and available to purchase for parents and family members.
EAA 92 was blessed with the opportunity to show off one of our events with Discover Orange County, a TV series that airs on Cox channel 3, 4, 8, and Charter 188. For a truly immersive preview of what a day as a Young Eagle is like, watch the attached video.
