– – Oceanic Flights-the differences and surprises with Jim Barry – –

Journey through a career of oceanic and international flying that started before satellites and ended with incredible technological advances of the space age. Advances in navigation, communications, flight planning and weather information will be discussed from the 1970s to present. A few of the inevitable surprises that are always challenging will be presented as well.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Jim Barry retired as the Director of Training for NetJets, directly responsible for all pilot, flight attendant and dispatcher training at NJI. Jim started his aviation career 60 years ago while attending the University of Massachusetts. He worked part time, as classes would permit, gaining experience as a flight instructor and Lear Jet co-pilot in Marshfield, Mass. At 23 he was flying as a captain on a Lear 25 for Executive Air Fleet which became Jet Aviation. After a 27 year career retiring as Vice President of Operations, he moved to Savannah, Georgia for the training position with NetJets. Jim is ATP rated in Lears, Falcons and Gulfstreams and has been a training captain and check airman. He has been involved in numerous industry and FAA working groups and is the past Chairman of the NATA’s Air Charter Committee. Jim is an EAA92 chapter member.
