DESCRIPTION: – Ted Venter – Building a RANS S21 Airplane – \n  \n\nOur speaker\, Ted Venter\, will share his journey in building a RANS S21 airplane\, which is nearing completion and preparing for its first flight. \n\nTed is a long time member of EAA\, and has held his Private Pilots License since 1978.  Early in his flying days\, Ted intended to pursue a career as a professional pilot.  During the process of working toward this dream\, success in a non aviation field took him in another direction.  He purchased a RANS S21 kit plane soon after retirement.  After 5 years\, his is almost finished with the build. \n\nTed started documenting his build through a YouTube channel (Tree Top Flight) www..youtube.com/@treetopflight7624  and has over 70 episodes created.\n\n\nHe still needs his tail wheel endorsement\, and plans to achieve that in the next 60 days.\nHis mission in this plane is a lot of back country flying\, but not STOL specific.\n\n\nMEETING DETAILS:\n\nThis in-person meeting will be held at the IRWD Community Room at 15500 Sand Canyon Ave in Irvine. \nOctober 6\, 2026. \nHangar Talk social period: 6:30 to 7:00 PM \nMeeting begins at 7:00 PM \nPresentation begins approx. 7:15 PM \n \n“Irvine Ranch Water District makes its facilities available for use by residents and nonprofit organizations merely as a public service\, but does not\, by allowing this use\, endorse or support the purpose of the event or its sponsor.”
