SUMMARY:April EAA92 General Meeting - Human Factors for Pilots - The Final Frontier - by John Steuernagle (FAA)
DESCRIPTION:– – Human Factors for Pilots – The Final Frontier – – \nTopic of the Month – Energy Management ……………………… 10-15 minutes \nHuman Factors for Pilots – The Final Frontier..………….50 -60 minutes \n  \nHuman Factors for Pilots  \n                Today’s aircraft and avionics are a product of more than a hundred years of technological evolution.  We’ve seen extraordinary progress in speed\, range\, utility\, and safety.  Many General Aviation pilots are flying aircraft models and navigation systems that didn’t exist 10 years ago and\, Industry-wide\, pilots are challenged to keep up with the pace of evolution.  Humans don’t evolve as rapidly as technology so\, as we go forward\, we must consider the total aviation transportation system of aircraft\, avionics\, airspace system\, and – most importantly – pilots.  That’s why Human Factors is in a very real sense – The Final Frontier. \n                Join us for a preview of a fascinating new series of Human Factors online courses from the Australian Civil Aviation Authority and the FAA Safety Team – FAASTeam. \nABOUT OUR SPEAKER: \nJohn Steuernagle is the National FAA Safety Team Products Manager working in Long Beach\, California. John served on the AOPA Air Safety Foundation staff from 1991 to 2002 where\, working in video\, print\, and computer media\, he developed seminars and safety education media for pilots. \nTHIS IS A WINGS EVENT: \nSign up for WINGS credit at www.FAASafety.gov \nMEETING DETAILS: \nThis in-person meeting will be held at the IRWD Community Room at 15500 Sand Canyon Ave in Irvine.  Please be prepared to follow Orange County Covid guidelines in place at that time. \nHangar Talk social period: 6:30 to 7:00 PM \nMeeting begins at 7:00 PM \nPresentation begins approx. 7:15 PM \n
