DESCRIPTION: -Pre-flight Inspection and Aircraft Checkout — \n  \n\nOur speaker\, John Mahany\, will discuss what’s involved in getting a good aircraft checkout. There are many things to consider\, depending on the aircraft\, and how it’s equipped. John will review what’s required to get a good\, thorough check out\, necessary for all good\, safe and competent pilots. \n  \nJohn Mahany is an experienced and knowledgeable Master CFI\, and has an ATP with 4 type ratings.  He lives in Southern California and has been flying for decades\, and he’s still a student of flying. He now he flies a Cessna 150 for fun.  In the summer of 2022\, he flew his 150 to Oshkosh for AirVenture.  It was three months of planning and 3 1/2 days of fun flying\, each way\, low and slow across the country! \n\n  \nMEETING DETAILS: \nThis in-person meeting will be held at the IRWD Community Room at 15500 Sand Canyon Ave in Irvine. \nApril 7\, 2026. \nHangar Talk social period: 6:30 to 7:00 PM \nMeeting begins at 7:00 PM \nPresentation begins approx. 7:15 PM \n \n“Irvine Ranch Water District makes its facilities available for use by residents and nonprofit organizations merely as a public service\, but does not\, by allowing this use\, endorse or support the purpose of the event or its sponsor.”
