DESCRIPTION:– –  Automation In Flight – Using Your Autopilot — \nEffective and Safe Use of Automation During Various Phases of Flight\, Including Use of VNAV During Approaches \nFor our Feb EAA Chapter 92 meeting\, join us for a seminar on making the best use of modern cockpit automation. \nAutomation – VNAV and Approach. The new generation of digital autopilots and navigators opens new options for vertical navigation and maneuvering for both visual and instrument approach.  This seminar discusses autopilot operation and limitations in this new environment. \nDiscussion will include: \n–  Recommended operations; \n–  Use of Automation/Autopilot \n–  VNAV \n–  Approach techniques using modern avionics \nABOUT OUR SPEAKER: \nJay Steffenhagen is an ATP and CFII.  Jay has over 11\,500 hours of flight time in airplanes\, 6\,000 of which is instruction given.  Jay also instructs in a Redbird simulator.  He focuses on Cirrus SR aircraft and the G1000.  His personal airplane is a well-equipped Bonanza with a Garmin GFC 500 digital autopilot and GTN navigators.
