Rick "Doc" Hecker is a member of the maintenance team of the Gulf Coast Wing of the Commemorative Air Force which keeps the 1945 Boeing/Douglas B17G "Texas Raiders", N7227C, in the air.  In the picture of N7227C and the maintenance team below, Doc is on the maintenance platform, to the far right side nearest the nose, in the gray jacket.

         Doc was recently one of three honorees selected by the Gulf Coast Wing of the Commemorative Air Force to receive "The Platt Thompson Maintenance Award" for 2010.  This award is given to a member of the maintenance team of N7227C, 1945 Boeing/Douglas B17-G "Texas Raiders".  Honorees are recommended by a committee of senior aintenance personnel and the award is ratified by the Gulf Coast Wing's Elected and Appointed Staff.  In this photo, Doc is wearing a jacket which contains replicas of his father's 381st BG (H) Squadron Patches (532nd BS and 535th BS), as well as the Group’s HQ Patch – “Triumphant We Fly”.
